Ch-ch-ch-changes!

It's been a couple weeks since my last post so I thought I would post an update. We have made some big changes in our house over the past week in particular. The biggest change came in the form of finding new homes for our two dogs. Since Ashlyn started crawling things have gotten more and more frustrating around the house. While we loved our dogs, there just never seemed to be enough space for all of us, and once Ashlyn was mobile things went from frustrating to somewhat dangerous. The dogs were always playing aggressively with each other near Ashlyn, and once she was big enough to walk and then run it took a turn for the worse. Ashlyn loved the dogs but didn't understand that it wasn't okay to chase them or lay on top of them. About a week and a half ago Ashlyn pushed her luck too far and Keena our eldest dog nipped Ashlyn on the face near her eye, drawing blood. We had already begun thinking about finding them new homes, but this was the straw that broke the camels back. We posted an ad on Craigslist.org for both dogs and within the week we found them both great homes. I think they will both be so much happier in the long run in their new situations. We miss them terribly and our house seems eerily quiet and larger. I just got an email today from Charley's new mommy saying how great he was doing and how he spent his whole weekend playing outside at BBQ's.
This is the picture she included with her email. This is Charley and his new sister, Boo. Boo is a spitting image of our other dog, Keena which is kinda weird. While our hearts are aching for them, it gets a little easier each day and we know that in the long run this will be best for all of us.

Now that the dogs have good homes we have a lot more options as to what will come next for us. Over the past 6 months we have flirted with the idea of moving to downtown Bellevue. More than likely this will not be a long term living situation but we figured while Ashlyn is not in school and we now don't have dogs to worry about, condo/apartment living sounds like a lot of fun.

Last week we went and toured a couple places downtown and fell in love. So far we are leaning towards Washington Square (above) but we have a lot more places to check out before we make a final decision. In the meantime we have a lot of work to do around our house to get it ready to rent out. We spent yesterday working outside and today i've been working on putting some of our old furniture on craigslist. We are hoping to have the house rented out this fall. Hopefully I will be posting about being Landlords soon!!!!
