Our schedule has been jam-packed with fun adventures over the past couple of weeks (hence the reason I haven't blogged for awhile). Rather than try to do individual posts I thought I would pull everything together in one entry.
Ashlyn has continued to be quite the helper in the kitchen and around the house. I try to include her whenever I can. In this picture we were making chocolate cupcakes. She is sporting the new apron the Easter Bunny brought her.
The weekend before last we took a day trip up to Vancouver, BC with Jeremy's dad, Jim. Jim currently lives in Yuma, AZ so we don't get to see him very often. He met a lovely woman named Iris a few months back and she is from the Vancouver area so we decided it would be fun to take a trip up north to meet her. She has a lovely home and made a delicious lunch for all of us. Ashlyn LOVED her house because she had pictures and statues of animals all around over the place. It was a beautiful day so on the way home we decided to stop and check out some of the outlet stores in Burlington. I was ecstatic to learn that Lululemon has an outlet store up there. I will definitely be making another trip up there soon.
On Saturday morning we went to Husky stadium to watch my brother, Erik run in his last track meet of the year (my brother was in first place when I took the above picture. He finished 10th overall out of about 40 other men). He runs the 1500 meter race and did an amazing job. He finished the race in just 3 minutes and 57 seconds (that put him on pace to run a 4:12 mile). He is an amazing athlete and just finished his Freshman year at Gonzaga University. I know he will do great things over the next 3 years and we are so proud of him.
We had such a fun day yesterday for Mothers' Day. We met my entire family for an early breakfast at The Cheesecake Factory followed by a nice nap. After our nap Jeremy, Ashlyn, and I headed into Seattle for a late lunch at The Ram in the University District. After picking up a couple Trophy Cupcakes for dessert we went to Greenlake for some exercise and relaxation.
It was very cold and windy, but it stayed dry so we had a great time walking around the lake and letting Ashlyn run around in the grass.
It was such a great day and I can't wait to use the giftcard Ashlyn and Jeremy got me for a manicure/pedicure at Julep. I'm the luckiest mommy/wife in the whole world.
We've also had the opportunity to get together with friends and family a lot lately. We've played at the mall kids cove quite a few times in the past few weeks since the weather has been yucky and last week we met our friends Kristin and Leah for Storytime at the Issaquah Library. Other than taking a few days off after I came down with the stomach flu we've also been getting out for daily runs (rain or shine). We are looking forward to sunny and warmer days so that we can get out and explore more local parks and hikes soon.
