Ashlyn's first trip to the Aquarium

Since the weather was supposed to be nice today we decided it would be a great day to take Ashlyn to the Seattle Aquarium for a little family fun. I have been so excited all week since this would be her first time visiting the Aquarium. She is a lover of all animals and sea creatures so I knew that this trip would be a major hit. Boy, was I right. From the minute we arrived and I explained where we were and that lots of fishies lived at the Aquarium, Ashlyn's eyes lit up and she exclaimed, "Fish!"

She loved being able to run from fish tank to fish tank and peer in without one of us holding her.
Her first look at the big fish tank near the Aquarium entrance. She was mesmerized.
I think the highlight of our trip was getting to touch a few of the sea creatures. She especially loved feeling the bumpy skin of a starfish.
Ashlyn's first time touching the tentacles of a Sea Anenomy. I think if she could have jumped right into the water she would have been in Heaven.
No trip to the Aquarium is complete without visiting Nemo.
This cute bird was flapping all over the place which Ashlyn found hilarious.
Hanging out with a Sea Otter. We saw quite a few during our trip and she loved them.
Rockin her awesome shades in the sunshine.

After we finished up at the Aquarium we walked to the Red Robin on the waterfront and ate a yummy lunch. Ashlyn loved watching the Sea gulls and the incoming and outgoing ferry boats. What an amazing day! I think one of my favorite parts about being a parent is getting to witness your child experience things for the first time. Watching their eyes light up and hearing them squeal with excitement is just priceless. I look forward to many more firsts with Ashlyn!
